The most one-sided stretch of the M3
The 2.1 miles between J4A and J4 carries 52,118 vehicles a day westbound against 41,254 eastbound — 26% more one way than the other. That is the widest directional gap on any counted stretch of the M3, and it is why the two carriageways here can behave completely differently at the same time of day.
