M3

Fleet Services (M3 J4A–J5)

Fleet Services sits on the M3 between Junction 4A for Fleet and Farnborough and Junction 5 for Hook. It is run by Welcome Break, and it is the northernmost of the M3’s two service areas — the last stop before the M25 if you are heading towards London.

Both sides, and you can walk between them

Fleet has separate northbound and southbound sites, but unusually they are joined by an internal bridge — the Scott Mills Bridge — so you can reach either side on foot whichever way you are travelling. That is worth knowing: at most motorway services, pulling in on the wrong side means going without.

    The traffic around Fleet Services

The services sit on the stretch between Junction 5 and Junction 4A, which the Department for Transport counts at 96,243 vehicles a day. Immediately north of it, between Junction 4A and Junction 4, is the most one-sided stretch of the whole M3 — 52,118 vehicles a day one way against 41,254 the other. If you are joining northbound at peak, expect the queue to be worse than the raw daily figure suggests.
